Road Trip Ideas for Waco, Texas Drivers
We are taking a trip to see family at the end of this month and I am worried about keeping my kids occupied. We have tech gadgets but only so many ways to charge them. I know someone is going to have a dying battery before we get there. Then it will be “Are we there yet?” or “I’m hungryyy”. In other words, I am going to be chugging Aspirin and wishing for a bottle of wine.
One of our favorite games in the car was I Spy. But sometimes it is hard to come up with ideas that will not only entertain but also be easy to find. I would definitely tailor this list to match the age of your children. Whatever you do, just have fun with it! Make it up as you go or better yet let your kids get into the planning action.
What are some of the things they would like to look for?
- Police Car
- Fire Truck
- American Flag
- “I Love My Dog” decal
- Yield Sign
- The Number 9
- Chevrolet Truck
- Red Semi Truck
- Lime Green Car
- Exit 92 sign
If you don’t want to play I Spy you can easily turn the list into “Highway Bingo.” Make a printable and then have your kids cross of the ones they find. The first with “BINGO” wins. Prizes don’t have to be huge. You can offer a new coloring book with crayons, a small toy, or if you have pre-teens you can offer a small gift card to a fast food place or iTunes. Just use your imagination!
Playing games on road trips can be fun but please remember to use caution. Always pay attention to the road and your speed. It is easy to get excited and forget you are driving. Look out for other drivers and have fun!
